nancy pelosi and for you panelists for providing this informative seminars. for our young company, we are a distribution company. i just heard you mention that you do not loan for the sale of alcohol. is that separate from distribution of wine? >> s.p.a. -- sba makes loans to winery's, stores that sell wine. i am not exactly sure what role you play in distribution. the federal government ought -- got out of prohibiting alcohol and long time ago. we are not in the business of regulating all bohol, beverage distribution or sale. we make loans to businesses who sell alcoholic beverages, restaurants, stores. so is not an sp a prohibition. it is regulated on a local level. we have made loans to a lot of businesses that have some degree of an alcoholic beverages, one distribution. >> terrific. following up to that, can you give any advice on particular resources that would speak perhaps to any tax benefits, subsidies in place for both domestic distribution of wine, as well as exports? >> why don't we take it off line. i think what is the case, there is a lot of complexity to the incentives

hostage. that's senate leader harry reid there. house minority leader nancy pelosi rejected the plan. did the republicans make a real effort here or was this a gimmick as nancy pelosi said? >> the most important thing for republicans is they are re-ordering the three fiscal conflicts that the country has ahead. the three conflicts are are the sequestration and the deep cuts to domestic and military spending and the end of the funding of the government that could result in a govern shutdown and the sent ceiling fight and the debt ceiling fight has potentially the worst consequences for the economy. so the republicans thought instead of taking the debt ceiling fight first and potentially doing real harm, let's move it to the end of the first of three standoffs. >> and sequestration, of course, also a major issue. do republicans think they can win on -- on major cuts to domestic and military spending? >> probably not. i don't think they have a lot of betting power here at all. the debt ceiling was the biggest bargaining chip that they had and they just moved it to basically a totally di

problem. black caucus said we don't have entitlement problem. leave entitlements alone. nancy pelosi says we still have a revenue problem. don't leave the tax hikes alone. what is amazing these guys don't address a problem. this weekend we get ready to essentially coronate a president, there is no evidence anywhere among anyone in washington they even see a problem. nowhere in any of the inaugural events is so much as passing bought of spending period. more like a four-day spending palooza, celebrates wonder of government and those that befit from the government the woman who has a job thanks to the auto rescue. the dad's whose family is protecting thanks to the health care law. i think you get the point. austerity isn't the point. more government is. this inaugural weekend is all about a blueprint for revving it up. the white house says it is low-keying the inaugural festivities because of economy, somehow cutting yourself down to two presidential balls doesn't exactly strike me as sacrifice, as much as a slap in the taxpayer's face. to joe perry, marco and chris. not exactly partying. m

you. republicans are calling it a plan, democratic leader nancy pelosi call it is a gimmick. it sounds more like -- i mean, my read initially was this is more like political posturing rather than a serious deal. what are you hearing down there? >> well, it certainly is something that's meant to try and force the senate to act. you know, the senate has not passed a suggest in over 1,300 days and that's a popular rallying cry of the house gop. but what came out of this retreat was the idea instilled in members that it's probably not beneficial with the republican brand so damaged nationally to have a real standoff over the debt limit. this is a way they're trying to get passed that, a three-month extension. they're not demanding any cuts. all they're demanding is for the senate to have a budget by april 15th. in theory it sounds something less shall we say -- it's less trying to instill anger in democrats, but you saw when harry reid said he was reassured they're moving away from their all-or-nothing proposition. but overall what this is trying to do is give the house the ability

house minority speaker nancy pelosi saying it's a gimmick, unworthy of the challenges we face and the debate we should be having. the message from the american people is clear, no games no default. for more on this, i would like to bring kristin. what is the white house saying about the issue? >> reporter: craig, they are saying that they are encouraged by the fact that house speaker, john boehner, is putting forward a proposal that increases the debt limit without an equal amount of spending cuts. that was his long-held position a and he is abandoning that position, and saying that he will increase the debt ceiling for a period of three months and in that timeframe, the congress has to come up with a budget and that is a win from the democrats standpoint, but they do not like the idea of increasing the debt limit in increments. the question is, if it gets passed will it force both sides to come to the table on spending cuts within a matter of months when they take on the issue on of the budget and then of course, the sequester. that is the big question mark, you heard nancy pelosi sa

the fun. were you invited here by the house minority leader, nancy pelosi, explain that to me? >> i'm a huge fan of hers, she's fought for the middle class, she's foutd for women. and we're still not there yet with the equal pay thing. but at least now we can sue for it. and she's fought for kids, for education. she was behind helping the don't tell abolishing the don't ask don't tell. i'm really hopeful for the next four years, honestly. because i think the republicans might derail the president, and every step he tries to take. because it's almost like they want him to fail. they just try to make him fail and when you make your president fail, you make our country fail and the people elected him. i mean not just by a little, a lot. so that's the voice of the people. so let's get on the people wagon and make the country a great country again. you said the things most interesting to you and most important to you are being a musician and being an activist. especially when you're fighting for equality. have you seen some great strides. >> at least our president evolved. you don't always

sense, practical legislation. mike thompson, who has been designated by nancy pelosi in our caucus to head up a special task force, has been holding hearings, and i think what's gripping the country is that there are common sense, practical solutions. and standing behind that is the resolve of a president, our president, who i was fortunate to fly to connecticut with. when he came out and spoke, he said this was the worst day of my presidency, and you could see to the marrow of the individual how much this has impacted this president and his resolve to protect our children. and as congress has demonstrated most recently with respect to fiscal cliffs, that it cannot act, i expect the president will. and i applaud him for taking executive action, and doing so where he can, abiding by the constitutional amendment, which, of course, as you know, martin, says there shall be a wel well-regulated militia. it has nothing to do with taking the guns out of the hands of people but regulating and control assault weapons, capacity clips, making sure that there's universal background checks for
